First sorrowful mystery

Agony in the Garden

We pray that all priests who follow the footsteps of Christ to Calvary may be comforted by his presence; those who have compromised the faith may repent and return to grace and truth. We pray for those who suffer from one kind of addiction or another, but they may be liberated and set free to follow the Lord faithfully.

Second Sorrowful Mystery
Jesus is Scourged

We pray for priests who are persecuted or under religious oppression, those who are physically or verbally abused, those who are in prison or prevented from offering the Holy Sacrifice of the mass or holy communion to the people. May Christ grant them courage, strength and perseverance to endure their sufferings.

Third Sorrowful Mystery
Crowning with Thorns

We pray for priests who suffer for defending authentic Catholic doctrine. We pray that all bishops will uphold the true teachings of the Catholic Church and resist temptations to compromise doctrine in the face of cultural and social pressures. We pray that all priests may live only to do the Fathers will, as Jesus always did.

Fourth Sorrowful Mystery

Jesus Carries his Cross

We pray for all priests who carry heavy crosses, for those who are weak or lonely, and those that have fallen from God's grace in some way. We pray for the Holy Father, who perhaps has the heaviest cross: defending and upholding the faith amidst the widespread persecution and abandonment of the Church rom within and without.

Fifth Sorrowful Mystery
Jesus Dies on the Cross

We pray for all the priests who are in their last agony and for those who will die this day. We pray for the priests who thirst for the salvation of souls. We pray that the daily immolation of their wills accomplish God’s design for the Redemption of the whole world.
